One Challenge. One Cause. Mark your calendars for the 3rd annual United We Step Challenge SM coming October 31, 2017! Over the last two years, the ASMBS Foundation has held a national step challenge to raise awareness of obesity in America. Through this campaign we have been able to share our message with hundreds of individuals and raise funds to support obesity research, education, and advocacy initiatives. This year we are changing the event back to a single day challenge and adding in a new component. Every penny raised by the participants will be converted into one step towards their personal and/or team's step count. Like always, the team with the most steps will take home the golden trophy. Team Celebration led by Dr. Keith Kim has gone undefeated the last two years. Can your team steal the trophy from them this year? Registration opens this summer. Visit www.UnitedWeStep.com to learn more. 2017 LEAD Awards. The ASMBS Foundation's annual LEAD Awards ceremony will be held in conjunction with ObesityWeek 2017 in Washington DC. Each year we honor those who have shown outstanding leadership and dedication to the field of metabolic and bariatric surgery. A call for nominations will be sent out in June.
