O besity is considered a risk factor for the development of primary and incisional ventral hernias. 1–7 Repairing complex defects in patients with morbid obesity with a body mass index (BMI) greater than 40kg/m 2 who often present with comorbidities (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, poor vascular bed perfusion/ circulation, severe wound infections) is challenging.
